Merricks Pinot Noir
Wine
Garagiste Merricks Pinot Noir is a single vineyard wine drawn from the estate Merricks Grove Vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula.
It is made in small batches with handpicked grapes. The grapes are destemmed for wild yeast fermentation.
However, depending on the vintage, some parcels can remain as whole bunches. Extended maceration on skins follows, punctuated with light pump overs and gentle plunging.
The wine undergoes partial malolactic fermentation and matures on lees in new and seasoned French oak.
Deep vermillion, Garagiste Merricks Pinot Noir has lively red fruit flavours, refreshing acidity and intense tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
